Bookmarks

The bookmarks in Nitro work much like the bookmarks you place in a paper book—they allow you to retain links to particular pages in a document for quick access, as well other actions, such as go to a page in the current PDF document, or go to a web page.

If they're well laid out, a set of bookmarks will help the user understand the basic structure of long documents. Moreover, including bookmarks can help in encouraging your users to view documents onscreen instead of wasting paper by printing them.

To view Bookmarks

To view the Bookmarks in the document, to to View > Table of Contents.

Adding a Bookmark

  1. Navigate to the page you want to place a Bookmark.
  2. From the menu bar choose Edit > Bookmarks > Add Bookmark, or click on the Add Bookmark button in the Toolbar. (Toolbar).

Note: By default, the application adds bookmark entries by page number e.g. “‘Page n.” Edit the name of the entry just as you would any Table of Contents entry. See Creating PDF Table of Contents. (Advanced feature of Nitro PDF Pro).

Removing a Bookmark

  1. Open the Table of Contents under the View menu.
  2. Locate the Bookmark you want to remove, right-click the Bookmark and choose Remove Entry.
