Commenting on a PDF Document

Nitro Pro lets you view all comments in your PDF file from a single location. The Comments pane lists all of the comments in your file, along with information relating to each comment.

To Show or Hide the Comments pane:

    1. In the sidebar, click the Comments tab to toggle visibility of the Comments pane.
  1. You can close the comments pane by clicking the Comments tab or the X in the top right corner of the Comments pane.

How to Add Comments to a PDF:

    1. On the Review tab in the Markup section, click Add Note.
  1. Click again anywhere within the document to place a note at that location.
  2. A comment box will appear outside the page boundary where you can enter your comment.

To Delete a Comment:

  1. There are a few ways to delete a comment. The two most common are:
    • On the Comments pane, select a comment, and click Delete.
    • Right-click on the sticky note and choose Delete.

To Export Comments from a PDF File:

You can export your comments as an FDF file which can be sent to another PDF user who can import them into their version of the document. This is a great idea when the file you are working on is too large to send via email, but you still need to share your comments.

    1. Go to the Review tab and in the Comments section, click on Migrate.
  1. Save the FDF file somewhere you can easily locate.
  2. You can then share this file with another user so they can import your comments.

To Import Comments into a PDF File:

With an FDF file containing comments you can import these to your document and they will be placed in the same location the original user placed theirs, along with details of the author and a time-stamp.

  1. Go to the Review tab and in the Comments section, click on the arrow icon to the right of Migrate and select Import Comments.
  2. Navigate to the FDF file and click OK.
  3. The comments will now be placed as they were in the original user’s copy of the document.
