Creating & Editing Form Fields

Do you have a PDF form that you want to complete digitally, but can't because it doesn’t have fillable form fields? With Nitro PDF Pro you can transform your PDF into an interactive document by using Form Field creation tools. You can add custom form fields to any document in Nitro PDF Pro and adjust everything from appearance to data validation.

Nitro PDF Pro allows you to turn your PDF into an interactive document by adding custom form fields.

How to Create Form Fields:

  1. Click on the Tools menu, then select the type of form field you’d like to create. Alternatively you can click on the Forms tool to choose your form field.
  2. Click and drag on the document to create the form field
  3. Select the field you created with the Edit tool . Adjust the appearance and format of the field text by using the tools:
    • Font Toolbar: Change the font, size, style, color and alignment of the text in the form field.
    • Border Properties: Change the border color, fill, line type and weight of the form field.

Using the Auto Form-Field Creator:

Nitro PDF Pro has an auto form-field creator that will scan the document, and place text form fields in the appropriate areas of your document:

  1. Have the document open that you want to create form fields in.
  2. Under Edit, choose Create Form Fields for Page…
  3. Nitro PDF Pro will scan the document, and place form fields onto the document based off the content.

Note: Under the View menu, you can choose Highlight Form Fields to highlight the form fields on the document, making it easier to see.
